BTR SEASON WRAP UP NEWSLETTER
Well hello again. We thought it was time that we got you all up to date and recapped on the events of the 2003 - 2004 season.
The end of this season completes 10 years of Super Truck Racing for BTR and has been our most successful to date.
The following are the highlights & achievements:
Upgraded water-cooling system
New race shocks & suspension upgrade
Race truck displayed at the Wellington Performance Vehicle show
Numerous sponsorship events throughout the country
The addition of the BTR coach - providing much needed facilities for the team & entertainment area for sponsors
Increased sponsorship exposure through the Coach, Transporter, BTR Website & of course the race truck itself
BTR Website up & going (with links to sponsors websites)
Finished top of A class
Second kiwi overall
3rd overall in the Trans Tasman Super Truck series
Top points scorer at the Pukekohe meeting, beating both Porter and Bob 'the builder' Middleton (AUS)
Completion of all races & meetings finishing in 5th or better for all except 1 race in which we were spun off
SO WHAT'S TO COME?
Thanks to the Tranzit Group, we have for the last few years had the use of their ERF truck as the tireless tow vehicle for the transporter & race truck. However next season will see a subtle difference in the tow vehicle & give the old one a well deserved rest. Malcolm has self funded (not with BTR sponsorship monies) a late model ERF sleeper cab tractor unit that will be painted up in the team colour scheme. This will of course complete an already very professional total team image & once again stand us out from the rest. It's fair to say that no other team comes close to the standard of presentation & total package that Team BTR has now, without what's coming for next season.
There are plenty plans for further upgrades to the race truck including a total strip down & repaint of the truck chassis, differential upgrades, subtle body changes, numerous engine improvements, 'pit to truck' communication to name but a few. There are also plans for a new promotional poster, crew streamlining, the revamping of the transporter, sponsor days & a secret weapon that we can't reveal yet at this early stage (but it does have something to do with our UK links!). The UK link has the potential to really shake things up in the championship and hopefully (if all goes to plan) great benefits to BTR!

SPONSORSHIP
We are truly greatful for the sponsors support again this year & hope that you all feel you're getting the value you expect from your sponsorships. Special thanks must go to our Platinum sponsor Alan Griffin of 'West Bush Deer Stud - Masterton' who has been our main sponsor for the last 2 years & who has made a huge difference to the impact with the results the BTR team have achieved. Other major long standing sponsors ADS, PPG, Quality Demolition & Tranzit have also been brilliant & have contributed to the bulk funding required this season for us achieve all that we have. Of course all our sponsors help complete the package & team effort of which we simply couldn't without. Most of these have been with us for the long haul: Masterton Mitre 10, Auto Electrical Services, Phill Cottle Transport Parts, Phil Workman, David Pope Transport, Rob Walker and Lambert Brake & Clutch. Many, many thanks!
But yep it's that time again! As we well & truly went through the greatfully received dollars for last season, it's now time for us to talk with sponsors about their levels of commitment for the upcoming season. We will be getting in touch with everyone within the next 2 months to discuss these details & in some cases wrap up payments from this season.

THE BTR TEAM
The backbone of any race effort is of course the team itself. Once again we've had the luxury of having the same long serving crew members who all know what to do & when to do it. Special thanks goes out to each & every member who's unpaid efforts & substantial time commitments are very much appreciated. The team members are; Kevin Hey, Darren Thompson, Craig Koha, Jeff Pickett, Ashley Hey, Mark Burgess (ADS), Melissa Edwards, Stu Masson and Audette & Malcolm Little. Taking a step back this year is Stu and stepping in to take up the slack is new crew member Meegan Cottle (of Phill Cottle Transport Parts).
That pretty much wraps things up for this season however we will still be doing little things of interest between now & next season of which we will send through little updates on. So until then, send money! (Please)
